Sankofa's Community Development Initiative integrates holistic community development practices into the planning, implementing, and managing of affordable housing. We leverage our role as experienced real estate developers and managers to build strategic alliances with partners to enhance neighborhood institutions and communities. By focusing on the social factors of health and wellbeing that impact our residents' quality of life, health, and success, we promote economic empowerment within our neighborhoods.

For example, we provide on-site child care centers that serve a variety of families. Our community services include facilities for senior programs, parks, open spaces, and libraries, along with neighborhood-serving retail in our mixed-use developments. We recognize that housing alone is not the ultimate solution.

Our initiative encompasses facets of our work that extend beyond housing, ensuring that more individuals and neighborhoods have opportunities to thrive. SWC is committed to offering financial education, housing counseling assistance, and access to quality affordable housing. The tactical and strategic objective of SWC is to build advocacy for financial stability through the development of affordable housing, facilitation of homeownership, and the economic empowerment and revitalization of neighborhoods in disadvantaged areas that have been overlooked and neglected.

We aim to enhance our clients' financial wellness and net worth by helping them manage and increase their assets while lowering their debt.
