Sankofa Wellness Center (SWC) is a nonprofit benefit corporation located in Los Angeles, California. SWC's specific purpose is to help disadvantaged communities of people of African descent address the issues that affect their daily lives. These issues include physical and mental health, affordable housing, education, training, and environmental justice.
Help raise awareness and tackle these issues by donating, volunteering, talking to friends and family, being engaged. We need and want your support.
Health: Help raise funding by connecting with the various hospitals adhering to the SWC model of Cedars Sinai Medical Center, and other training medical hospitals.
Healthy Foods: Help raise funds to provide aid to disadvantaged communities with a healthy diet process system, such as inner city gardens. Reach-out to Whole Foods and others for assistance in promoting a whole foods diet.
Affordable Housing: We need to acquire land grants, and city and state vacated land to fulfill these housing needs throughout California.
Educational: Raise money to fund broad-based internet coverage in inner-city communities. Develop apps that are affordable to teach critical thinking skills and foreign language skills, such as Kiswahili. Also, the lesson in sustaining and developing a healthy, Mind, Body, and Spirit.
Environmental: Radical Green New Deal is our only solution to the disaster on the horizon. Fund and work through scientists with a deep experience like to tackle this issue head-on, not protecting any industry sector that will use reform as a ruse for change.
